After months of scorching heat and sun, the monsoons are finally here. This is the time when you’d want to go out for a long walk with your furry friend, and they would expect you to let them enjoy the showers. However as a pet-parent there are some things you must note to keep your pet safe and healthy for this monsoon.

1.Make sure to clean their paws thoroughly after each walk: A walk outside exposes your pet’s paw to many microorganisms, which can lead to infection if not properly cared for. Warm water should be used to clean their paws and dirty backsplash.

2. Provide them with a fiber-rich diet: It is critical to monitor their food during this period. Change to lighter foods that are high in nutrients and fiber for them. Before making the transfer, consult with a veterinarian first.

3. Arrange for warmer and cozier mats for them to sleep: The floors of the house can get cold for young puppies or elderly dogs. Do not let them sleep straight on the cold floor. Make arrangements for a nice and warm bed.

4. Give them boiled water to drink: Make sure your dog only drinks purified or boiled and cooled water. This will help prevent water-borne diseases and stomach problems from arising.

5. Keep their ears clean: During the monsoon season, your dog’s ears will become quite wet. To avoid ear infections, keep their ears dry and remove any wax buildup on a regular basis. Dry their ears after every outdoor play session and bath, especially if they have long and flappy ears.
